Here Networks, which bills itself as “America’s first gay television network”, is boosting its online efforts with the acquisition of Hyperion Interactive Media, an aggregator of gay and lesbian sites. Print mag GayWebMonkey is included. H.I.M. will keep its acronym but the name will change to here! Interactive Media. The online network, with more than two dozen sites described as portals and another 50 partner sites, claims 2 million-plus monthly unique visitors to GayWired.com (the ad kit promises 400,000 visitors a month), GayMonkey.com, LesbianNation.com, GaySports.com, and others. HIM founder Matt Skallerud will continue to manage the online network, the staff is staying as well. No financial details.
