Digital Music Group, the online aggregator and distributor of music to online music stores, has bought out Green Linnet Records, a leading Celtic music label from Danbury, Conn., and its affiliated World music label, Xenophile, for an undisclosed amount.
DMGI has acquired the master recordings of the catalog and will sell these recordings through online music stores and for physical album production. Previously, DMGI had a short-term agreement with Green Linnet covering digital distribution only.
The Green Linnet catalog includes over 2,400 tracks from leading Celtic artists such as Niamh Parsons, Old Blind Dogs, Lunasa, Patrick Street, and Tannahill Weavers.
DMGI reports its Q1 results later today…we’ll report then.
