Cequint — which sells caller identification technology which displays the city and state of incoming calls on mobile phones — has obtained $1.5 million in financing from Benaroya Capital and angel investors. Sound like something you’d be prepared to pay between $2-3 for? I didn’t think so either, but apparently “in past trials between 25 percent and 48 percent of the people who tried City ID ended up buying it, well beyond adoption rates of mobile content like games and ringtones. So far more than 10,000 people have downloaded the application”.
