Korea’s mobile operators are in trouble with the National Police Agency’s Cyber Crime Unit, who accuse them of “millions by marketing erotic literature to their customers”. I assume this was some sort of premium SMS product. “Police say the firms totted up about US$48 million in sales by providing 5,093 indecent stories since 2003. Profits amounted to an impressive 41 percent of that or $19.8 million in so-called information usage fees.” 50 employees of the carriers and 43 content providers were booked on suspicion of providing indecent literature to users’ handsets.
