Jupitermedia has reported its Q1 numbers and has revenues of $33.9 million compared to revenues of $19.7 million for the same period last year, an increase of 72%. Net income was $9.2 million (included a gain of $6.2 million, net of income taxes, related to the sale of Jupitermedia’s Research business), compared to net income of $5.5 million for the same period last year. In March, the company sold its research division to Kagan for $10.1 million.
On the images side, its main line of business now, its revenues were $26.56 million, up from $12.16 million in the year-ago quarter..its segment operating income was up to $10.4 million, up from $6.8 million in year-ago quarter.
On the online media side, its revenues and operating income both decreased slightly: revenues were $7.37 million, down from $7.54 million in the year-ago quarter. Operating income was $2.19 million, down form $2.49 million in the year-ago quarter.
