Top Mobile Game Titles — M:Metrics

M:Metrics has released some research on the top mobile games in the US for the first quarter of 2006. “M:Metrics reported that in the month of March, 4.9 million, or 2.7 percent of U.S. mobile subscribers, downloaded a game, and 45 million (24.2 percent) played a game they had previously downloaded or that came installed on their device.”
EA Mobile led the pack (obviously, following the Jamdat acquisition when it had 31%) with a 28.8% share of the US market, followed by Glu Mobile with a 9.9% share (including the share of the recently acquired iFone), then Gameloft with 9.1%. The rest of the top 10 were: Hands On Mobile — 7.2%; I-play — 7.1%; Namco — 5.8%; Oasys — 3.4%; THQ — 3.1%; Digital Chocolate — 2.3%; Konami — 2.3%.
EA Mobile had the top two games sold, Tetris and Bejewelled at 5% and 4% respectively of total games sold.
