The Wireless World Forum has put out a series of reports on mobile games.
One argues that “poor consumer experience and a ‘content is king’ attitude costs the mobile games industry $3 billion a year”, although there’s no details in the press release as to how that figure was arrived at. They’ve probably got something in that the focus needs to shift from “content is king” to “customer is king”, although the argument that people aren’t snacking on mobile content but rather investing a great deal of time and skill in it is more controversial.
Another release argues that mobile games revolve around the 3 Cs, casual, consumer and community. This leads to the question: Is your mum the future of mobile games?
