[by Sahad PV, Contentsutra] This is the big story of the day in Indian digital media. Yahoo’s top bosses Terry Semel, Jerry Yang and CFO Susan Decker addressed media in Delhi on Thursday. The world’s largest internet content company is in India to finalise some acquisitions as I had hinted at in my earlier post. Yahoo has identified three or four companies (mainly media and entertainment companies) in India for an acquisition or a partnership. They would be those companies where Yahoo is not present. So they should be filling the gaps in the Yahoo portfolio.Yahoo is also believed to be talking to VCs. Which means some of the VC funded companies could be their targets. The company hasn’t set a time frame for the acquisition. But if Yahoo is willing to talk about their acquisition plans, then it’s a signal that an announcement is round the corner. Watch this space.
