Motley Fool: Product Manager, Alexandria, VA

The Product Manager serves as a general manager for one or more of The Motley Fool‘s investment newsletter services. In this role, the Product Manager is responsible for all aspects of a product’s success, and leads a cross-functional team that includes Editorial, Marketing, Web Design and Tech teams.
The successful candidate will be a high-energy individual with outstanding general management skills and demonstrated prior success in a consumer-focused company. A good working knowledge of investing and personal finance is a major plus.
Primary Responsibilities/Objectives:
The Product Manager is responsible for the cross-functional product management and marketing of one or more of The Motley Fool’s investment newsletter services. Duties include:
* Product Management: Manage the operations and P&L of newsletter services. Work closely with the Editorial and Web Design teams to deliver a top-quality product, deliver high customer satisfaction ratings, and subscription renewals.
* Competitive Intelligence: Use market research and competitor analysis to understand the needs of Motley Fool customers, and to develop service enhancements that serve them.
* Marketing: Develop strategic marketing plans designed to maximize product revenue and profitability through multiple online and offline marketing channels. Work closely with Marketing Managers to oversee the implementation of these plans and track results.
* Analysis: Continually analyze results to optimize the all aspects of the sales process. Champion the testing of new marketing messages, creative, and channels to improve results.
Experience
:
* Undergraduate degree required; an MBA would be a plus
* Consumer product management or product marketing experience
* Experience with direct marketing a plus
* Budgeting and financial management
* Familiarity with an online environment
* Knowledge of investing related products
* Experience with investing education or newsletters a plus
