Siemens Malaysia is promoting local content development for mobile phones. It plans to draft some 25 local applications developers in the next one year into its IMS Developer programme. They may be students and multimedia companies. IMS stands for Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem, a standards-based, session and control platform for delivering IP-based content, applications and services over mobile or fixed phone networks.
Some of the applications include Push to Talk over Cellular (PoC), instant messaging and multiplayer games. [Via The Star Online]
