Topix.net, till now a news aggregation site (majority owned by three big newspaper chains), has started syndicating content and publishing it on its site, an interesting move in itself (on continuing evolution of Topix into some sort of Yahoo News). Its “Publisher Platform” allows media companies to syndicate full-text RSS feeds, for Topix to publish on its own site and other partner sites like Yahoo, AOL and others.
The publishers get a rev share for advertising on the story pages…among the publishers who have signed up are Reuters, Christian Science Monitor, LATimes.com, among others.
