Irish mobile content delivery firm MobileAware has acquired US-based mobile workforce specialist BroadBeam in an all-share deal. The financial terms of the deal are not disclosed. The acquisition will give the Dublin-based MobileAware a much larger profile in North America, where BroadBeam is stronger.
According to MobileAware CEO Kevin McCloskey, the two companies have synergy: “MobileAware helps companies deliver content to handsets, while Broadbeam concentrates on the mobile workforce, helping to keep mobile workers connected to the office’s back-end systems.” BroadBeam has customers like Pepsi Bottling and TNT Express, while MobileAware’s existing client roster includes 3G operators OniWay in Portugal, Xfera Moviles in Spain and Canadian network infrastructure giant Nortel Networks.
