American Airlines takes your credit card at 30,000 feet

American_airlinesDon’t you just hate to dig for cash on a flight? You’re all strapped in, can’t get a hand to your pocket, the attendants are rushing you and fellow passengers are waiting to buy that last imported beer from the drink cart. Now you can snag that last can using your credit or charge card on American Airlines. The airline began to rollout the payment service earlier this week and expects to offer it on all flights by mid-June.

Payment is made using wireless technology of some type and Windows Mobile powered devices, giving me one more reason to not carry cash. Anyone care to bet if the flight attendants prefer Solitaire over the payment application?
