Mobile Social Networking Startup Radiate Raises $5 Million

We’re still averaging 2-3 a week…social networks, that is: Another still-stealth social networking startup Radiate, which incorporates location-based technology into a mobile offering, has raised $5 million in venture funding. Sequoia Capital and NEA have invested in the firm, now called Flipt. Not much else is known…
The release says this: “The company was founded by CEO Sam Altman during his sophomore year at Stanford, where he was studying computer science. Altman developed the flipt service to better organize his social life.” The company will announce carrier partners soon.
