Vodafone Paid Fox 3 Times Production Costs On 24 Mobisodes, Upfront

That was the first mobisodes experiment from a major operator anywhere in the world, more than a year ago (in November 2004)…today, Peter Chernin, president and COO of News Corp, said at the Milken conference that it was a very good deal for Fox…UK operator Vodafone, which first carried the “24” mobisodes, paid them three times the production costs upfront to use those mobisodes on its network. He also said, though, that “I am not convinced that cellphone is the greatest medium to watch narrative content. It is a short-form, commuting experience.”
