Sony’s loss widened in Q1, but the struggling electronics giant promised better times ahead. Sony lost 66.53 billion yen (about $569 million) on 1.85 trillion yen in total revenue. In the same period a year earlier, the company lost 56.5 billion yen on total revenue of 1.7 trillion yen.
Road to recovery: The company’s turnaround efforts showed early signs of progress, analysts said. While Sony’s core electronics division remained in the red, the company reported higher sales of digital camcorders, PCs and its newly created line-up of Bravia-brand TV. Full earnings release here.
