Nokia — and probably many others in the industry — are banking on the FIFA World Cup giving mobile video a push-start. I don’t think it will do much for broadcast TV since it won’t be deployed in time, and even if it is few people will have the handsets. However mobile video clips could do really well, and 3G-based TV services. Personally I’d be interested to see who was buying it and why rather than how big the market is, I think that would give a much clearer idea of where the market is headed.
