India’s largest selling business newspaper has made some top level changes on the editorial side, ContentSutra learns. Rajrishi Singhal, the senior-most editor of The Economic Times, has opted to move into a consulting editor’s role, and from now on will not hold any responsibility of the day-to-day functioning of the paper. Rahul Joshi, one of the two executive editors (the other being Singhal), will now hold the sole charge of ET’s editorial operations.
Singhal has been redesignated as Consulting Editor in the rank of Executive Editor and will report to CEO Arun Arora. Singhal will now spend more time on writing and will also give intellectual leadership to ET Intelligence Group and ET Big Bucks Investor’s Guide.
Joshi will now be in charge of both the sections of ET (ET One – corporate and brands news; and ET Two – economy and stocks).
The other top level editorial appointment is that of Samar Harlankar who has moved from The Indian Express (where he was Mumbai resident editor) to The Hindustan Times as Editor-National Investigations. He will also hold the charge of Western region including Mumbai, reports Exchange4media.com.
