Watching video on mobile devices has a long way to go before it becomes a money spinner. Here are some key findings of a survey by The NPD Group, a consumer and retail information company. It found 28 percent of all mobile phones in use in February 2006 were capable of playing digital video, but only one percent of subscribers did watch mobile video. A 12 percent of wireless subscribers may want to use it in the future.
Consumers who subscribe to video on their mobile phones currently pay an average of $10.70 per month for the service.
