Born-Again Akamai Powered To The Nasdaq 100 This Year

After surviving the dotcom bust in 2000-01, the company is back in action with the re-emergence of the Internet. The Cambridge, Massachusetts-based content delivery solutions company – which boasts of a client roster like Apple iTunes, Fox Sports, MSNBC, Times of India, Sify, Rediff and NDTV – shot into the NASDAQ top 100 this year. Its revenues for 2005 touched $283 million, up 35 per cent from $210 million in 2004.
In Bangalore, Akamai (after integrating operations of Speedera Networks which it acquired last year) expects to grow to a 135-member organisation by year-end from 55 last year. The company is investing Rs 15 crore in a new facility in the city.
