Reed Elsevier is buying Gold Standard, a U.S.-based online provider of pharmaceutical and drug information. Financial terms of the deal, which is subject to regulatory approval in the United States, were not disclosed. Gold Standard, founded in 1993 and based in Tampa, Florida, supplies information about clinical drug trials and software to hospitals, retail pharmacy chains and medical schools.
