Microsoft’s Remake, MSN’s Resurgence

So says this long-winded story from Fortune, about the changing mood at Microsoft and the increasing power of MSN on projects, as MSFT moves to the Web. Also, of course, the umpteenth tribute to Ray Ozzie. When the reorg started happening last September, connecting MSN with the all-important Windows was a significant change: It was the first outward sign that things at Microsoft were finally shifting toward the Net.
The interesting part of the story: There is also restlessness around the company as the MSN group’s power grows in the age of services, say the story. MSN is mobbed with internal applicants when jobs open up. MSN’s Blake Irving says teams at MSN are working on 20 new products to be unveiled this year.
