This is an interesting non-story (trust LAT to hype it up and take ages to get to the point): CinemaNow, the online movie service, has tied up with adult movie company Vivid Entertainment to sell downloadable movies that customers can burn to DVD and watch on their TVs, a step ahea than the mainstream movie industry (that did a deal last month with Movielink).
Vivid will offer 30 downloadable videos for about $19.95 apiece that include everything that is on a standard DVD — cover art, scene navigation, bonus material and deleted scenes. The finished disc will be copy-protected to deter piracy.
