A profile of Vernon Irvin, exec VP at Verisign, heading the Jamster business. The mobile content service made about $600 million in revenues in 2005, the story says.
Interestingly, Irvin discusses Verisign’s mobile content backup service: “It used to be if you lose your phone, you lose all everything on it, but now with VeriSign backup we’ll put it up in the clouds and you can re-download it to your new phone. Your phone can become an iPod. You can download mp3s on your handset and listen to them as much as you want on your phone and they will also download on your computer.”
