As contract negotiations between ad agencies and actors’ unions near, advertisers say the system for compensating actors has to be overhauled. Agencies say they pay too much on all the digital platforms, actors and union bodies say not so.
The collective bargaining agreement is up for renewal by fall (Oct 29) this year…the things will come to a head then.
Meanwhile, SAG and AFTRA report that their meeting last Saturday with the advertising industry’s Joint Policy Committee on Broadcast Talent Union Relations (JPC) was “productive.”
