Upcoming Conferences: Milken Global Conference; We Media London; E3

This weeks is a quiet week for us as far as conferences go, but the two weeks after will be busy again:
Milken Institute Global Conference: The annual powerhouse conference is April 24-26 here in LA, and I am speaking on one of the panels. Our panel is about the “Rise of Citizen Journalists“. My take will be slightly different: not necessarily as much about citizens as journalists, but about journalists as citizen entrepreneurs. I could talk about this for hours and hours, and someday I will (write something on it), but for now, if the playing field has leveled for citizens to become journalists, the other way around is also true, in a business sense.
We Media London: Then the week after, I’ll be in London speaking at the We Media London conference organized by the Media Center…the theme is similar to the NYC conference last year, though with a more global perspective. Our panel is “Investing In We: Media, Money and Innovation”. And let’s all make an effort to not talk about the same things…something different than our usual canned speeches. For instance, I do not want to hear the “seeders-of-cloud” speech again…
E3, LA: The week after, May 9-11 is the big gaming conerferece here in LA. I missed the boat on press registration for this one, but if there’s anyone who can get us in, let me know…E3 is increasingly mainstream, as is the industry, of course, and would be writing about online and mobile gaming from there.
— Then the NAB Show is up next week in Las Vegas, and we’re still debating whether to make the trek.
