Mobile Contextual Advertising: What About The Landing Page?

I was at an information industry conference for the last two days, and the general sentiment I gathered is that it is very early days for the business info industry, when it comes to mobile. Some information publishers are experimenting with basic Wap sites, and some are also providing financial information like stock quotes etc on the phones.
But as with all things, the question boils down to business models, and an ancillary of that, volume. Anyway, someone pointed out an interesting problem when it comes to porting listings or contextual-based advertising to mobiles. So even if you think text-based contextual advertising is easily portable to the mobile, does it mean that the landing page from those contextual ads are also mobile-friendly? Unless they have been specially created for mobile, probably not. Just something to ponder upon…
