TelecomAsia.net: China does it the Chinese way. China Mobile has cancelled the mobile phone services of some 19,000 subscribers in Zhuhai, a city in southern China, due to “abuses” on the carrier’s SMS service. China Mobile has cancelled the services after it discovered that some of the subscribers were using SMS for “criminal or fraudulent purposes.” Some subscribers were reportedly using SMS to obtain financial information from other mobile users.
