Raju Narisetti Leaves The Wall Street Journal To Launch Newspaper In India

The Wall Street Journal (sub. req): Raju Narisetti, Editor of The Wall Street Journal Europe, has quit. According to the report, Narisetti is “leaving at the end of May to launch an English-language business newspaper and web site in India”. (Hindustan Times is launching a business paper. Is he heading there? We will try to speak to Narisetti later in the day.)
Narisetti, who is based in Brussels, was promoted as Deputy Managing Editor of The Wall Street Journal in December last year, following the exit of senior editors.
Narisetti has confirmed the development to Dow Jones Newswires. “India is at a tremendous inflexion point, and this new venture will aim to meet the growing demand in that region for accurate and insightful business journalism — both in terms of covering Indian business as well connecting the dots between India and the rest of the business world.”
Another senior editor at WSJ, Amy Stevens, editor of the Weekend Journal, is also on her way out to help launch a business magazine for Conde Nast.
