MSN Backs Away from ‘Branded Entertainment’

I am not sure this is as black and white as this story makes it out to be, and would need to dig more to find out the implications, but anyway: the story says MSN is moving away from “branded entertainment” solutions for advertisers/marketers, according to MSN’s new GM of entertainment and video, Rob Bennett.
Instead, Bennett said the company will work to better integrate advertising with the more heavily-trafficked sections of the portal. A year ago, MSN had set up a “Branded Entertainment and Experiences Team” and was in the midst of talking up these custom solutions to marketers, but it seems they have stepped away from that.
