There’s a new online marketplace, MyNuMo, which allows “anyone can publish and sell music, images, and videos into the lucrative mobile content marketplace”. It’s not just user-gen, corporations can do it to, but they have traditional channels. There’s a rating system, and the service has billing agreements with the US carriers that support WAP-push of content. That being said, MyNuMo boasts content from Mexico, Korea and the UK as well as the US. Will this take off? Who knows. There is definitely a demand for an easy distribution method of user-generated content, and there is probably a demand for payments for that content (especially micropayments). There’s a number that have hit the market in recent times, and which models will be successful and which will not is a good question.
