101Communications Bought By 1105 Media

The numbers have merged: 101 Communications,a B2B tech trade media company with a bunch of print and major online properties, has been bought out by 1105 Media, a company backed by PE firms Nautic Partners and Alta Communications in partnership with Neal Vitale, a former Reed Elsevier and Petersen Publishing executive. The terms were not officially disclosed, but a story in DJ LBO Wire put the deal value at about $75 million. Dow Jones said the purchase price represents about 10 times the company’s EBITDA.
101was created in 1998, with backing from PE firm Frontenac.
