In the Las Vegas airport waiting for a flight to Atlanta and the next show on my schedule: NCTA’s National Show, still the largest annual cable industry gathering of the year even though I swear I’ve seen half of the folks who will be there in Las Vegas this year between CES and CTIA. In fact, a fair number of people from CTIA are making the trek to Atlanta; some companies split their execs between the two. The blurring of the lines between shows is accelerating with every new manifestiation of multi-platform mania. This year at CTIA, Time Warner Cable’s Glenn Britt was a keynote speaker; ditto for top cable programming execs Debra Lee, BET, and Van Tofler, MTV.
National Show activities begin in earnest Sunday and we’ll have it all — straight through Tuesday night.
