On paper, it may look like the cable operators taking part in a joint venture with Sprint Nextel are in the same business as the carriers. Glenn Britt spent most of his keynote making a different case. Yes, offering the usual wireless features gives the operators a quadruple play but the higher goal is a convergence of the services the cable and phone companies already offer.
Making that happen might be complex but the rationale is relatively simple: “New products and services help distinguish us from competition and they add stickiness for customer loyalty. รข
