Some of the mobile games news coming out of CTIA…
Namco has announced that since the launch of its Pool Pro Online game less than a year ago wireless subscribers have played more than 3.6 million games…and “the top record-setting player has played the real-time, head-to-head pool game more than 27,000 times”. That’s more than 70 times a day, more than three times every hour. That is insane. Mind you, the game includes 9-ball as well as 8-ball, which can be a lot quicker to play.
From ancient brands to the new, Digital Chocolate has won the Wireless Innovation Contest 2006 (WIC’06) Award for “Entertainment” for its game MLSN Sports Picks. It’s been downloaded 35,000 times and 20% of the players have used in-game invitations to challenge friends to join the game…which is the best marketing money can’t buy.
