The Ambanis know how to take maximum returns out of their investments. Reliance WebWorld outlets are usually frequented by young boys and girls who go there to play games. That’s what I have noticed whenever I visited an outlet. Which means WebWorld outlets are generally empty in the late evenings and nights. But Reliance has found an innovative way to put their investments to good use. Rent it out for call centre operations.
CIOL has a story on it. Entrepreneurs can operate a small-time BPO from a WebWorld store from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. The outlets have computers, headsets, etc., all what the entrepreneur needs is VoIP minutes. Sarup Chowdhary, director & chief executive officer, Reliance WebWorld, says, “Call centers are highly successful in India and with this venture we allow small entrepreneurs to open up shop with limited capital. We already have world-class infrastructure in place, all he/she needs to do is get the people and start operations. This facility is best for 12-20 seater outbound call center ventures,” he said.
Reliance WebWorld has signed up with five parties. The company charges Rs. 8000 per seat per month.
