Hachette Filipacchi-owned Ellegirl magazine is closing down, but the company says the brand would continue on as a website.
While the magazine will cease publication with the June/July issue, investment on the Web and wireless will be increased.
MediaWeek: Carol Smith, senior vp, Elle group publishing director and Marta Wohrle, vp, director of digital media, will oversee ElleGirl.com, which will be redesigned immediately with expanded content and a beefed up staff in partnership with teen marketing firm Alloy.
