New York Business: Verizon Communications has agreed to sell its Caribbean and Latin American telecommunications operations to America Movil for $3.7 billion because they “represent a small part of our revenue base that is less aligned with our core business focus and future growth.”
The three seperate transactions include:
— Selling Verizon Dominicana in the Dominican Republic To America Movil
— Selling its 52% share in Telecomunicaciones de Puerto Rico America Movil
— Selling its 29% stake in Compania Anonima Nacional Telefonos de Venezuela to a company jointly owned by America Movil and Mexican operator Telmex.
