Mobile TV Needs To Be Mobile Specific

Red Bee Media has commissioned a report about mobile video…the basic conclusion being that the shows needed to be made-for-mobile and related to a regular TV show. “Nigel Walley, CEO of iBurbia owner Decipher, said of the study: “There was significant interest in concepts that complemented TV viewing with extra and exclusive content on mobile phones…But the content had to be sufficiently compelling to be worth the effort and there is a fear of billing abuse, meaning that costs need to be made clear.”
The study found that the most successful mobile TV will be marketed with a prompt on the TV screen and the content needed to be under three minutes long.
Red Bee is in the industry (it used to be BBC Broadcasting) and “specialises in the delivery and promotion of digital media”.
