3’s Million Music Downloads

UK operator 3UK has claimed it sold a million full-track music downloads in the four months it launched its music service…That’s roughly the same time it took Sprint to send a million music downloads to consumers. This equates to 53% of all mobile music tracks sold in the UK, or in other words “3.7% of the combined singles chart and 7.5% of the digital download chart this year”, according to the Official Charts Company. Interestingly, this doesn’t include music videos…
Out of the 80,000 singles of Goodbye my Lover sold by James Blunt in the UK over 10% (8,627) were downloaded via 3, with the operator suggesting it proved that “the mobile music medium is now playing a major role in the UK charts”.
3UK has 3.5 million customers and it charges
