US printing company RR Donnelley has acquired OfficeTiger, a BPO in India, for $250 million. Donnelley is a full-service provider of print and related services, including document-based business process outsourcing, commercial printing, direct mail, financial printing, online services, digital photography, and colour services. This acquisition is likely to cut Donnelley’s costs as a printer and publishing company.
Donnelley is acquiring the stake of Francisco Partners, the private equity fund which invested $50 million in OfficeTiger, and also the stake of its founders. Donnelley reported a loss of $236 million in its fourth quarter on net sales of $2.4 billion, so it needs this acquisition to cut costs. [Via TMCNet]
