Israeli mobile phone advertising service provider Upsteed has raised $5 million in its first round from venture capital firms Sequoia Capital and Accel Partners. Upsteed, founded last year, has developed a mobile advertising system designed to reduce costs to end users.
Upsteed CEO and co-founder Zohar Levkovitz has confirmed the development to Israeli news website Globes. Levkovitz was formerly CTO at Comverse and was one of the developers of the MMS and push technology.
