Israeli operator Partner Communications has launched a trial for ad-subsidized content using technology from start-up Upsteed which combines advertisements with content services. “In the first stage Partner will integrate ads with Celltrix games. Customers can either download games for a fee or for free after agreeing to hear ads. The ads will play while the download is in progress and before the game playing begins, as well as between stages in the game…A customer will be able to simultaneously watch ads and play the game. They can obtain additional information from the advertiser, send an SMS (short message service) text message, or call the advertiser. The ads include a graphic or video display.”
