Carriers: Give Us Quality Games

At the GDC conference carriers said that “developers and publishers need to hold up their end by producing quality, innovative games”. The general complaint throughout last year was that carriers let any old tripe onto their decks if it had a good brand…it seems the carriers are turning that around. “If you put a brand on a game, you elevate the consumer’s expectation of that game, so the publisher needs to make it a very good experience in order to satisfy the consumer,” said Jason Ford of Sprint Nextel. However, the carriers agree that there are too many games available on their service and indicated they would be offering fewer games of a higher quality in the future.
