At the PC Forum last week, I spoke to Dave Morgan, CEO of Tacoda, the behavioral advertising network. Tacoda has just closed a $12 million third round..
Morgan, prior to starting Tacoda, was the CEO of online advertising pioneer Real Media. I have sparred with him a bit online about his thought leadership in the online advertising industry, but he has been a good sport about it.
This time I talked to him about the general online advertising market; about how to survive in an era where users are taking control; the mixture of behavioral and contextual; privacy issues in online advertising; the role of sites beyond the big four and their share of online ad dollars; among other issues.
Some of his quotes: The consumers by and large are massively passive….media companies will become the trusted intermediaries, that’s the opportunity.
(The picture on the right got messed up slightly because of shadows, in case you were wondering.)
