: The numbers aren’t final yet but as of 5 p.m. eastern Sunday the stats looked good for NCAA March Madness On Demand:
– More than 14 million live video streams in nearly four days.
– More than 4 million visits. (That would work out to about 2.5 visits per registered user and nearly 3.5 streams per visit.)
– About 1.6 million people registered with new registrations still coming in. The first 250,000 or so were VIPs, according to Larry Kramer, president of CBS Digital; that was the number they felt most confident about serving without problems. They had planned to cut VIP registration off the moment the first game started but the slots filled faster than expected. Some 530,000 fans registered for MMOD GA on Thursday alone.
– MMOD registration included registration for CBSSportsline.com but the sports site’s users who wanted MMOD acccess also had to register. An early estimate suggests just under half of the MMOD registrants were new to the site, a substantial number CBS can now try to engage for post-NCAA visits.
– A constant number of 3,000-4,000 visitors entering every minute.
– Roughly 30,000 registrants from outside the U.S.
