One of the brands Digital Orchid is distributing throughout Latin America is Hawaiin Tropics… it’s a sunscreen that runs a lot of beauty pagents (apparently it’s pretty big). Anyway, if you run a beauty pagent you pretty much automatically have access to pictures of beauty queens, and it’s these images that are being targeted at LatAm (most LatAm content falls into two categories, football and babes. There are other things interesting to the region, but those are viewed as the big two). Anyway, whether or not people buy the images the carriers will like it because the application lets you browse the images before you buy them (at least, the one at the conference did). And of course, browsing images is using data…I suspect more revenues may be made from that than from selling the images.
