65% Of WorldSpace Subscribers Are From India

India continues to be a major growth market for satellite-based digital music service provider WorldSpace. Look at these numbers: Of over 80,000 new subscribers it added during the year 2005, India contributed 66,000 new subscribers. So out of a total subscriber base of 115,000 subscribers at the end of 2005, India leads with 74,574 subscribers. It Introduced 19 new programming channels, including the first India sports talk radio channel and many regional language channels in India. It takes the total number of channels broadcast on WorldSpace’s global system to 220 by the end of 2005.
WorldSpace is present in some 10 Indian cities targeting more than 30 million people. [Via MSN Money]
