Verizon Wireless Looking For Hip Content To Target Younger Audience

Verizon Wireless is increasingly trying to target the younger demographic as the audience for its V CAST music content. For instance, it’s providing concert footage from last week’s South by Southwest (SXSW) event in Austin, and is also expanding relationships with other independent music distributors with a younger audience in mind. “At a high level, we’re looking to partner with other companies and other organizations that are reaching deeper into the younger demographic than Verizon Wireless might (through its phone services alone),” said Jeffrey Nelson, executive director of corporate communications. “We’re in a place where it’s an important battleground for the hearts and minds of younger cell phone users.”
