Sirius Reaches Deal With Warner, Universal Over Stored Music (sub. req.)

Already unhappy with the relatively small licensing fee they get whenever songs are played on satellite radio, the major record companies protested when Sirius began selling a device that allows users to store music. Now, according to the Journal, two of them have reached an agreement with Sirius: WMG and Universal will get a fee for every S50 sold. Sirius has yet to reach an agreement with Sony BMG; no word on the status with EMI. XM has similar devices coming to market soon.
